Are you a wine business based in Australia? Read this for all you need to know about our new market launch, why we do what we do and how you can get involved!
Following many successful launches of our eco-flat bottles across Europe, we’re thrilled to have just launched in Australia. With 8 in 10 Australians concerned about climate change, we’re pleased to be able to now offer our climate-friendly format to wine drinkers down under.
To date, we have collaborated in Europe with the likes of Accolade Wines, Moët Hennessy’s Chateau Galoupet and Miguel Torres Chile and seen flat bottles in UK supermarkets and festivals, on European e-retailers and in the Nordic alcohol monopolies.

Now, through collaborating with local industry giants, we’re bringing eco-flat bottles, and all their environmental and logistics benefits, to wine businesses in Australia.
Made in Australia: Just what makes our bottles better?
Did you know that round, glass bottles are the single largest contributor to wine’s carbon footprint? They’re also fragile and waste lots of space – a logistician’s nightmare. But for all their flaws, glass bottles appeal aesthetically to consumers and have been used for hundreds of years.
Our bottles offer game-changing improvements in shape and material, while still being a bottle, rather than an alternative format, for consumers to retain that emotional connection to pouring wine from a bottle. Flat to save space, and made from 100% recycled PET to save weight and energy, our bottles significantly slash carbon emissions and transport costs in the supply chain.
In Australia, we can fit 1152 eco-flat bottles onto a pallet, compared to the typical 768 round glass ones. That’s 50% more, translating into significant gains when pallets of bottles are shipped thousands of kms within Australia and even further abroad, and at a time when transport costs are increasing rapidly.
Plus, we’re taking our use of 100% recycled PET to the next level by sourcing it locally from Australia, demonstrating to consumers that their recycling has value and is put back to good use in engaging products they know and love, like wine.
Where can I find them?
We’re thrilled to have launched our eco-flat bottles with Accolade Wines, Australia’s #1 wine company by volume in Australia, and Taylors Wines, a founding member of Australia’s First Families of Wine. Their brands Banrock Station and One Small Step (respectively) have just launched nationwide in Coles Liquor Group’s Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market. It’s a perfect pairing, given Coles’ ambitions to be Australia’s most sustainable supermarket.

How are we set up?
To make it as easy and sustainable as possible for wine businesses to adopt these better bottles, we’ve spent time setting up local production:
- Our bottles are made from locally sourced recycled PET and produced by packaging market leader, Visy, in Melbourne
- They’re filled in Melbourne by Sanector, part of the San Miguel Yamamura Australasia Group
- We provide cartons and caps to suit your needs
- All you need to do is arrange your labels and send them, with the wine, to Sanector
This sounds great – how can I get involved?
The biggest impact you can make to reducing carbon footprint is switching your bottle. If you have an exciting wine project for our eco-flat bottles, tell us more about it through this form and we can bring it to life.
Meanwhile if you have any questions about our eco wine packaging, our handy FAQs might be able to help you out.
